'Green hours' are an offer for preschools and primary schools in the form of workshops and lessons in nature. The goal of green education is promotion among children and youths of knowledge on the natural environment and how to protect it, the interrelations between man and nature, educating 'conscious inhabitants of the Earth', and making the children acquainted with the history and traditions of the Żuławy.
1. Trips around the river to the nature reserve of lake Drużno.
- a guided trip to the lookout tower, observation of nature, learning to recognise birds, tracking animals (if we can find tracks!), learning to recognise plants and places where they occur, training of concentration and patience, a treasure hunt, and then the creative transforming of these treasures into works of art; sausages on a spit, crazy games in the wild, or on the playground, in the open (the children have to be properly dressed for the trip, Wellingtons are best, together with clothing which doesn't limit freedom of movement, appropriate for the weather)
2. 'Nature - the artist'
- nature-related workshop. Classes aiming to further children's creativity, focusing on theatre, music, art. The children firstly use the materials available at the site, such as vegetables, fruit, leaves, twigs, flowers, stones, then create works of art or props for a short performance. During the work they learn songs and poems. In the end they try to become actors, basing on the learned songs, poems and the works they had created.
3. Guests of the farmer
- activities at the farm. Getting to know the animals inhabiting the farm, information about caring for the animals, the culture of growing food, the growth cycle of the plants.
4. I am green!
- ecological and green education workshop
Preschools and schools are invited to cooperate with us.
